The objective of the Peer Support Program is to give NRSAC clients the opportunity to have another source of support and continuity of care once per week in between sessions with her therapist. This program serves to assist clients through the therapeutic process because they feel as though there are more social supports in place to aid in the healing process.
Responsibilities
- Be available to provide one weekly phone call to a client
- Provide support and information
- Maintain contact records for statistical purposes
- Debrief with Volunteer Coordinator on a regular basis
Requirements
- Must have successfully completed the Crisis Line Volunteer Training
- Maintain confidentiality as outlines in NRSAC’s Confidentiality Policy.
- Adhere to NRSAC’s policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics.
- Act within NRSAC’s Vision/Mission Statements
Training
- Attend orientation session with Volunteer Coordinator ( 2 hours)
